A girl's relationship with her favourite jeans is a serious one. For Fred, the higher the waist, the better - Her mantra when it comes to wearing denim. We’ve spoken to Les Basics’ founder Fred directly about why she loves denim enough to make it her uniform, and even build a label around it.

Always start with my bottom and match my top. Denim builds the perfect foundation of any outfit. It is so easy to throw on a pair of jeans and a great shirt and run out the door.
My favourite type of denim jeans?
There is no single one, but the higher the waist, the better - Bring it on! I love to play with denim styles, colours and shapes..The chances if you see me in Bali I might wear an oversized cut off shorts in light faded blue ;) or at the moment I'm a big fan of the wide leg jeans that brings an effortless vibe to any look and so comfy to wear :)
Denim for day or denim for night?
Both! One single pair of jeans can take you from day to night. Love to wear my favorite jeans with a leather corset at night or a linen puffy sleeve crop top during the day.
WHY denim?
I mean, what's not to love? It absolutely goes with everything, and it makes me feel good. I live in a good pair of shorts and a fancier top - It’s the perfect balance for me, it makes me feel good & thats what matters.
